The monarchies

A source of entertainment, the ancient monarchies
originating from a medieval tradition,
only the Magna Carta culd curb them,
was the battle cry in 1789 not primarily
"égalité, fraternité, liberté"?
The pageantry and protocol fill me with an
unsatiable resentment

Queen Elizabeth II uttered the historic words,
when she was watching a parade of over 1000 boats
on the Thames, including orchestras,
at her 60-year jubilee
"this is a humbling experience",
truly nauseating,
so much royal hypocrisy, the word humility
coming from her mug, seems really haughty,
with old fashioned woman's suit and red-bricked smile

The Belgian king, his holyness excellence Albert II
loves to talk about populism and the Thirties,
a for him well-known territory,
as his father considered himself as an intimate
pen pal of Adolf Hitler, a notorious
Austrian, who  was moreover succesfull
in Germany, but also in the Belgian palace.

Even enlighted sovereigns can act peevishly,
if they feel their throne is in danger,
when they're considered to be a cosmic joke,
their dotation should be raised by no less than
400,000 $, even I, faced with
that amount of pieces of silver, would not shy away
from a bold speech

This function should become ceremonial, despite
the christendemocratic party CD&V,
that he stays on his yaught and sleeps in,
we won't miss him for the Belgian variety of the French Revolution,
the October Revolution, the Carnation Revolution of 1975,
or even closer the Tunisean Jasmine Revolution,
I'm not advocating for the guillotine
or a firing squad, but an expulsion
to a friendy kingdom seems apparent, that he
ankers his yaught in Sweden or Saoudi-Arabia, where
people love superior dictators and tyrants, who
find it necessary to behave pedantic
